Favorite Romance Tropes

Hey everybody! I’m back with another Top Ten Tuesday post! Today’s prompt was a Love freebie, and what better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than with sharing my favorite Romance-themed tropes, and the books that I love the most that feature them! So without further ado, here are my top 5 tropes!

Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by:
That Artsy Reader Girl

Slow Burn
Simon Vs. The HomoSapiens Agenda

I adore Simon and this is a hill I will die on. Simon and Blue are by far one of the best slow-burn relationships I’ve read in a very long time! A good Slow Burn book gives me goosebumps, and let me tell you, this is a good slow burn!!

Enemies-To-Lovers
Red, White, and Royal Blue

I’m such a sucker for an Enemies-To-Lovers book, but my absolute favorite has been Red, White, and Royal Blue! The enemies to lovers in this book is done to absolute perfection. I definitely expected it to also be an Insta-Love story (aka, one of my LEAST favorite tropes!), but it wasn’t that way at all! It was such a slow transition from enemies to being able to tolerate each other, and finally, to love! This is one of my all time favorite books, and I can’t recommend it enough!

Fake Dating
To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

This one is probably the cliche choice for this trope, but it is still one of my favorite contemporary romance books ever. I adore Lara Jean and Peter Kavinsky! I can’t wait for the new movie to come out this week!

Bad Boy/Forbidden Love
City of Bones

I know these are technically two different tropes – but I think they go hand-in-hand, especially with Clary and Jace’s relationship. I adore a good bad boy, and you don’t get one better than Jace! I love the whole trope of a good-girl falling for a bad boy that she can’t have. It’s way too much fun!

Childhood Friends
Where Rainbows End

I love when childhood best friends fall in love later on in life! One of my favorite examples of this was Where Rainbows End by Cecila Ahern! I adore this book and it’s beautiful romance that feels like real life with a touch of fate!

What are your favorite romance tropes?
Happy reading!
