Top Ten Tuesday – Mardi Gras Colors!

This Top Ten Tuesday prompt is to find books whose covers are Purple, Green and Yellow (aka, the colors of Mardi Gras!). If you aren’t from an area that celebrates Mardi Gras, then you should know that today is the day! It’s always been on my bucket list to attend a Mardi Gras in New Orleans, and maybe…just maybe…if we can get out of this panorama I can achieve that wish!

Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by:
That Artsy Reader Girl

Purple

Purple is my favorite color, so it was really fun pulling some purple covers! (There are so many absolutely GORGEOUS purple covers, so it was really hard to choose!) For this one, I decided to go with Fix Her Up by Tessa Baily as well as The Disasters by MK England. Both of these books I thought were absolutely fantastic reads, and I can’t recommend them enough! For the third book I picked, I went with You Should See Me In A Crown by Leah Johnson. This one is towards the top of my TBR pile, and I’ve heard nothing but good reviews from people who have read it, so I knew I had to include it too!

Green

Some of these ones are kind of blueish, but I’m still counting them! For my green covers, I again went with two of my favorite books, and one that I haven’t read yet! The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang and Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell are two books that I’ve read enough times that I can quote them. I loved both of these books so much! For the third book, I went with An Emotion of Great Delight by Tahereh Mafi. This book is one of my 2021 Most Anticipated Reads, and I can’t wait to read it!

Yellow

Yellow was definitely a tough one, because I don’t think that I’ve seen very many yellow book covers! The first two books: King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo, and Circe by Madeline Miller, are sitting on my bookshelf just WAITING for me to read them…and one day…one day I will. The third book, The Year Shakespeare Ruined My Life by Dani Jansen was one of my favorite books that I read in 2020! It was such a good book, and I highly recommend it! If you’re curious about it, my review for it will be up later this week!

I know that *technically* the prompt says I should be posting ten books, and I know that I only posted nine…however, the perfectionist in me just can’t stand to add in another book and wreck my perfect square number of three threes. It can’t be done. So! If you have a favorite purple, green, or yellow cover that I didn’t include here, then fill in my tenth spot, and drop it in the comments! I’d love to see which covers you think are the prettiest!

Happy Reading!

  1. I know what you mean about 10 books and 3 colors. It annoyed me too. Also, I really enjoyed reading Circe!

  2. King of Scars made my list this week too. I was actually surprised; I didn’t think I read that many yellow book covers either, but half of the last 10 covers in these three colors were yellow!
