Top Ten Tuesday – Spring Cleaning!

I got really excited when I read this prompt, but I know that I probably have a slightly different take on this one. There are a couple books that I love to reread that kindof give me a “mental reset.” Whatever it is about them, they make me happy and help me to control the anxiety. So I guess you could say that it’s spring cleaning for my mind.

Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by:
That Artsy Reader Girl

Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

I would reread this one pretty much every finals week. Weirdly, reading about someone else’s school-related anxiety helped me handle my own. At least I wasn’t handling things as badly as Cat…right? Plus, the super cute romance with the local Starbucks barista was really my thing.

Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston

I just finished my most recent reread of this one, and I still love it just as much as I did the first time I read it. There’s something about their romance that just feels so special and wonderful. I just love reading this book!

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout

I know this one just came out recently, but I’m currently in my first reread, and I know that this is one that I’m going to come back to this one many times! The fantasy world, the romance, the characters….JLA really went all out with this one, and I can’t wait to keep coming back.

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

I’ve always loved Pretty Woman, and I loved that this was a nice new take on one of my favorite stories. It’s been quite some time since I’ve read this one, so I’ll definitely be going back to it soon!

Ella Enchanted by Gail Carsen Levine

I borrowed this one from my sister when I was a kid, and I fell in love with it immediately. Between me and her, I think we went through three different copies because they kept falling apart. We probably should have invested in a hardback, but that’s beside the point. Childhood me idealized Ella and Char’s relationship. I keep going back to it now for a mental reset of childhood nostalgia.

To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han

I’m a sucker for fake dating, and Lara Jean and Peter K’s relationship just makes me smile. I love going back to both the book and the movie, whenever I need something light and happy to get me through the day.

Where Rainbows End by Cecelia Ahern

Sometimes, I’ll get stuck in a loop of “I-haven’t-done-anything-with-my-life-so-obviously-I-won’t-do-anything-with-my-life.” Even though I know that no part of that is true, sometimes it’s nice to sit back, reread Where Rainbows End and remind myself that life doesn’t end at 25. Life goes on. Sometimes you don’t get your dream job or your dream man until retirement. And that’s okay. I’d like it to happen sooner, for sure, but it’s still nice to remember that there’s no deadline on life.

A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas

This one is DEFINITELY my comfort book from this story. I love rereading this one and watching Feyre and Rhys fall in love over and over again. There’s nothing quite like this book, and I honestly don’t think I could tell you my favorite part, because it all gives me the warm fuzzies (well – except for the first few chapters. If you know, you know).

Sorcery of Thorns by Margaret Rogerson

I love this book. I love that romance takes a huge back burner, and instead you focus just on the main character being a complete badass librarian and chasing her dreams. This one also gives me warm fuzzies, but for very different reasons! Definitely a mental cleansing for me!

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan

This one has been a comfort book for me for years. It was one of the first books that I ever chose to read myself – it wasn’t a book that was bought for me, or that I borrowed from my sister. It reminds me of all the good parts of my childhood, and is pure nostalgia held in my hand.

  1. I always find Rainbows End restful just because it’s all emails and letters. I don’t know why that makes it such an easy read but it does! I read Ella Enchanted as an adult and loved it, but wish I’d read it at like twelve or thirteen, it would’ve definitely been a favourite.

  4. So many people have been featuring Sarah Maas on their TBRs and is constantly reminding me how far behind I am haha. I absolutely love your take on this week’s prompt and have most of these either just recently finished or on my current TBR! [My Top Ten]
