2020 may have been not what we hoped for, BUT I did happen to read some exceptional authors last year, and some of them were brand new to me! This list is going to be a little difficult for me to curate, because I kindof lost track of what books I read in the later half of the year, but it’s the minor blessings from 2020 for me. So here are five of my favorite new to me authors!
Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by:
That Artsy Reader Girl
Diana Gabaldon
I started down the rabbit hole that is Outlander in 2020, and I’m not sorry! These books are each absolutely MASSIVE! But, they’re also incredibly good. I’m not usually one who goes crazy for historical fiction, but when I find a good one, I fall hard. I think that part of what helped me fall in love with this series and this author is that little splash of magic that she pours into her books. I definitely recommend!
Amelie Wen Zhao
If you read my review on Blood Heir, then you already know just how much I really loved this author. I think her writing is fantastic, and I can’t wait to read her future books (but especially the Blood Heir sequel! I need it now!)
Jennifer L Armentrout
I think I technically read my first JLA book in 2019, but I’m still going to count her in my 2020 authors because it wasn’t until 2020 that I really delved into and started appreciating her writing. I might have discovered her in 2019, but 2020 made her one of my favorites!!
Renee Ahdieh
I have heard really great things about this author for quite some time now, but it wasn’t until 2020 that I finally took the plunge and picked up one of her novels. I devoured The Beautiful and The Damned in just a couple days, and now I’m really excited to read more from her!
Kristen Simmons
I fell in love with Kristen Simmons The Vale Hall series in 2020, and I honestly can’t recommend the series or her writing enough! It’s just so good!! I can’t wait to read more from this author, and get me Vale Hall book 3 ASAP please!
What authors did you read in 2020 that you haven’t read before?
Happy reading!
I read the first installment of Outlander before it was a show! It has been quite a while 🙂 I hope you can stop by:

Brilliant list! I love Diana galbadon and I’ve always wanted to try blood warrior (although they seem a little daunting!). I seem to be really bad at following the ttt prompts lol so this week I tried top ten bookish things that annoy me. Although there could have been SO MANY MORE 😫 Here’s my post in case you’re interested 🙂 https://hundredsandthousandsofbooks.blog/2021/01/26/ttt-26-1-top-ten-bookish-things-i-hate/

I haven’t read any Outlander, but I love the way you described it. It is a great feeling to dive headlong into a set of chunky books and know you’ll enjoy them.
